Guys, the message on the home page is asking for people to get in touch about whether they can attend both the Gold Rush and the BBC 3 choir of the year competition.
Can you all reply to me because we need to know numbers!!!! I've been trying to get hold of people, but not many people answer..

Carl, it looks like there are not too many people looking at the website, if they are they are not responding to you. I suggest that you contact the section leaders and get them to PHONE everyone in their section and ask if they are attending, if not get them to find out why. This needs to be done asap

Choir thing clashes almost
Choir thing clashes almost to the hour with the annual Portsmouth Music Festival, so I can't do that, but I'll be attending Goldrush and bringing along a paying customer too !
As a suggestion for this site/how things are run, maybe important one-off messages like the announcement of an event could be automatically sent as an e-mail to everyone registered on this site ? Not sure how Tom has designed things, but maybe when an article like this is added to the homepage it could have an option to automatically e-mail a copy of it to everyone.
Reason I say that is I look at my e-mails every day, but in honesty I only look here when I know something is already going on.

Well said, James. I have plans to do just that (the e-mail thing), hoping to get cracking on it in a coupla weeks - shockingly busy at the moment.
My plan is that anything of note would be optionally emailed to all members (new events, etc). Obviously, you could turn off these alerts in your account.
