The NBYC are due for their AGM when we meet in Loughborough next week! I know this will probably bore a lot of you to tears, but it's really important for us to sort out the runnings of the club.

The plan is to keep it as short and sweet as possible. Their will be a chairmans report, a treasurers report and an MD's report, then we shall sort out anything that you, the membership bring to light, and elect new officers.

Take another read of the constitution (attached) and see if there's anything that you think we should change. If there is then you need to get in touch with Dave Moffatt and have it put on the Agenda as a proposal for a constitution amendment.

You will see in the constitution that at every AGM, the committee stands down, with the option of re-running if they wish to. If you feel you would like to be on the committee, then again you need to contact Moff with your name, as well as a proposer and a seconder.

If you're not going to be there - you need to send your apologies to me, Duncan B or Moff ASAP please.

I suppose this is a good opportunity to tell you that I will not be re-running for the post of chairman, for many reasons, partly because I do not have the time to do be as good a chairman as possible, now I'm working full time and do so many things in my spare time, and also because I think the chorus could benefit from someone fresh at the helm with such a big year ahead. I am nominating Duncan Blackeby as the new chairman, as in his year as Vice has shown a firm grasp of the running of the club, is reliable, and is more clevererer than me! :P This does not exclude anyone else running for the role, of course.

Have a good think about what you can offer the chorus, whether it be on the committee or just something you would like to see done differently, and let us know :)
