Seems aimed at Church choirs, but I thought it'd get us all thinking.

This article is very interesting indeed. When i was in year 6/7 I joined the Bridlington Priory Church choir for boys and experienced how hard it is to introduce boys into singing. Boys would come for auditions, get in and would in fact be very good at pitching etc.... But, when it came to singing top A flats and top C's they'd think....Oh this can't be normal for my reputation as a BOY. Although if you love to sing....Why would you think this?
I think it is totally different for introducing boys to sing Barbershop on the other hand as they can choose the part that suits their own voice and also they have all the encouragement they need from the guys around them, singing the same. Theonly thing they would need to get used to is most probably the weird but beautiful 7th chords, the concept of harmonising as 1 unit sound and last but not least the BARI's haha!
Anyway thats my short (essay) on my experience and what i think to it :D
