I found this on a forum. Ch-ch-check it out! OK guys, I am normally a lurker here but have something really cool to talk about so I am throwing out a topic and asking for your help. So for those that don't know me, I am one of the founders of the Westminster Chorus and I also sit on the Society Student Activites Committee. I have been working for quite a while now on a new youth chorus initiative and I am really pumped to say that the Society is totally backing it. The plan is to have an innaugural International Youth Chorus Conest at Midwinter 2008 in San Antonio. The coolest part about this new Youth Chorus concept is that it allows guys who already sing in local chapters, to start a chorus of friends their own age and not compete in any way with the current chapter. In fact we are working on ways to havethe existing local chapters help out instead. Anyway, I we are throwing this out to a few forums of young people and asking for your help. We have heard about a lot of new young choruses starting, so where are they? How can we help at the Society level. I can tell you we have the right people in place to support you, so what can we do? Please feel free to post any questions you have. I will be the first to admit we may not have every answer now but we will do our best. The most important thing is that we move this forward.
