songs for a Baritone + Bass (Trying to get dad into barbershop, want to show him the awesomeness of harmony)

He's sung before, in his life, but no real harmony I understand.

I want to find something that we can learn (it could be a song or a tag, tag would be easiest) that will give him the buzz of making some sweet chords/harmony with me - and show him what makes vocal harmony great.

If the Bass wasn't too complicated, that might help. Also I'd need to be able to get sheet music and teach tracks of it.

Thanks for any comtributions.

If you only have the two of you, I'd recommend holding off and trying your hardest to get him to experience some 4 part harmony. Beg him to give you a lift up to youth chorus whenever we are down south. If thats not possible, just work two parts of a tag or polecat. You may want to consider singing lead with him on some of these. With only two of you, the only way he'll get excited about the sounds you make together is if you are in 4ths, 5ths and 6ths...especially 5ths. sometimes, this isn't always the case with bass and bari. WIld irish would be good for bass and bari only, heart of my heart, you may wish to try lead and bass. Go for it! But please take him to a chrous rehearsal, otherwise he'll never stick with it!!!!!!
